    Hello all,

This is the first of two sets of documents for the Standards Committee to review. The RBMS Task Force to Revise the ACRL Code of Ethics for Special Collections Librarians has completed its task. Attached are the transmittal form and the updated Code of Ethics.

The ACRL Board meets next week. If we complete our review and vote on the update, they can vote on this at their meeting. Please share your thoughts on the updated Code of Ethics by Friday, March 13th.

    Thanks,

    Willie

    Hi all,

I vote to approve but had one comment:

    • In the transmittal form it states that this document should replace the existing Code of Ethics. I wonder if the history of the Code of Ethics should be included in the document. Normally it will state that the document is a revision and give the dates of original documents and previous revisions if there were any.

I agree.  The history and evolution of these documents is important.
