ACRL Framework for Impactful Scholarship and Metrics

    Hello all,

This is the second of two sets of documents for the Standards Committee to review. The ACRL Impactful Scholarship and Metrics Task Force have created a new Framework for Impactful Scholarship and Metrics. I am very impressed by the amount of comment and feedback gathered in the creation of the document.

Once again, if we complete our review and vote on the Framework, the ACRL Board can vote on this at their meeting. Please share your thoughts on the new Framework by Friday, March 13th.

    Thanks,

    Willie

    Hi All,

I thought the framework was clear and concise and I thought they did a thorough job of addressing limitations. My only wonderings were if they needed to provide the examples as Appendices, but that would only be for reading/flow purposes.

    Thanks,

    Jessica

    Hi Willie,
I am OK with the ACRL Framework for Impactful Scholarship and Metrics.  However, I find the Case Use: Application of Framework in File for Academic Librarian Promotion somewhat hard to follow.  Also, the document does not address academic librarians working in unionized institutions.

    Hi all,

I am having trouble getting the Connect site to load so I am emailing my comments for the Framework for Impactful Scholarship and Metrics. I think the group did a great job and will be an important resource to our profession. I also question the use of the personal narratives. I think they take away from the professionalism of the document and do little to enhance the information. If they remain, I agree that we include them as appendixes.

Here are a few other comments:

    • In the transmittal form, under experts: I would suggest including titles and affiliations of the experts consulted
    • In the Framework, page 3, for more information. I think the link to information on the background of the Task Force's process would be more suitable in the transmittal form.
    • In the Framework, Bibliography: I think all ACRL publications are to use the Chicago Manual of Style

    Hello!

I thought the ACRL Framework for Impactful Scholarship and Metrics worked well except for the Case Use, which (as others have pointed out) would be better placed as appendices.  I had no issues with the transmittal form as written.

    Thanks,
    Kari

I approve the framework with suggestion for pagination and citation style for Chicago.

    Thanks!
