The ACRL/ULS Academic Libraries Topics & Trends Discussion Group is excited to welcome you to the first fall 2026 discussion on Wednesday, September 30 and take part in an informal conversation around the figurative water cooler!

This month's discussion asks the question:

Are academic libraries becoming more corporate in response to our institutions' changing direction? And if so, what does that mean for how we define our value? We'll consider how this shift may be showing up in library organizational culture, including:

    • Management & decision-making

    • Organizational structures

    • Budgets & resource allocation

    • Goals & values

The discussion will be hosted and recorded on Zoom and will last one hour. Discussions are designed to encourage active discussion from all participants, and we welcome perspectives from all areas of library work. Participants are welcome to bring a coffee, tea, or snack as we chat!

Wednesday, September 30 at 1:00 PM EST: Please register at https://unlv.zoom.us/meeting/register/9j26gdQFSgenuSJEPTEmbw
