DLDG Midwinter 2013 Virtual Meeting

Here is the information about the DLDG virtual meeting, which will take place on February 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM (EST) / 11:00 AM (PST).

Our special guest will be author and New School professor, Elizabeth Kendall, who will discuss and answer questions about her forthcoming book, "Balanchine and the Lost Muse." Elizabeth describes the book (which will be published officially in July 2013), as “a parallel investigation of the early lives of two key figures in Russian ballet, in the crucial time surrounding the Russian revolution: the young George Balanchine, (Georgi Balanchivadze), and, his friend, classmate and early collaborator, the brilliant young Petrograd ballerina Lidiia Ivanova, who drowned in 1924 (possibly murdered).”

To join the meeting, simply go to:

Please RSVP to me at so that I can get a sense of how many people will be attending. I also will be sending out the text of the book's preface to those who "register" in advance.

We will be trying out an audio/video feed for Elizabeth, but if we have problems, we can fall back on the chat module.

You can test your connection at: http://uofw.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm

If you will be using a headset, please try to disable your computer's internal speakers and microphone before joining the meeting.

Hope to see you online on Friday!
