    Dear ACRL Chapter leaders,

Passing along information from ALA Public Policy and Advocacy; please help us spread the word in your states! While the focus of the program is on connectivity for the public, some of you may be active in your state associations or have ties to your state librarians and can work through them to reach your governors.

Has your state association or state library reached out to your governor about the Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund?

Created by the American Rescue Plan Act, this new fund will provide $10 billion to state governments, with each state receiving more than $100 million.

Eligible uses include library construction and renovation, digital devices, and broadband infrastructure.

State governments are deciding now how to use those funds – and need to allocate all of the funding by next September at the latest.

For more information, see ALA's fact sheet: "Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund: How Libraries Can Qualify."

Each state is deciding how to use this one-time funding. Make sure you know who is leading planning in your state and that your state is considering libraries!
