On behalf of the ACRL Research and Planning Committee, I am sharing, for Board review and comments, the attached draft 2020 ACRL Top Trends.

Biennially, the ACRL Research Planning and Review Committee is responsible for identifying ACRL top trends for publication in the June issue of C&RL News, and in non-conference years, the committee welcomes feedback from the ACRL Board.

The committee is finalizing citations, but welcomes your comments and thoughts on the attached draft. Please post your feedback in ALA Connect by Friday, February 28, and I will compile and send to the committee.

Please note that there will only be a virtual discussion and no formal vote will take place, as the Board traditionally only reviews and submits comments on this document.

Let me know if you have questions.

Great job on the list of interesting and challenging top trends for 2020. My only comment is that I think critical librarianship should be more clearly defined in #2. That section covers a wide range of things that seem to mush together.

Hi All - the list looks fine to me. I will have to follow the reference links to get a clearer understanding of a couple of the concepts.
Regarding critical librarianship, there is a 2015 Keeping Up With... that perhaps could be included in the references.

I also agree, overall this is very well written and synthesized but it would be good to break up the various areas listed under #2 perhaps as mini-sub bullets with their own definition for clarity. Great job!
