    Dear SC Members,

On May 10, SC held its 1st virtual meeting.  Many thanks to David, we were able to overcome the technical difficulty using conference call instead of WebEx.  Ann Campion Riley, Nancy E. Fawley (Ex-Officio Member), David Free and I were present at the meeting.  During the meeting, our discussion can be summarized as the following:

    1. Progress update since MW 2018:
    2. Contact committees regarding standards and guidelines that are due for review or revision
      • ACRL/IS Instruction Section Document Review Task Force is in charge to check applicability of the following four documents for instruction:
        • Guidelines for Instruction Programs
        • Objectives for Information Literacy Instruction
        • Analyzing Your Instruction Environment
        • Characteristics of Programs of Information Literacy
    3. Merinda Henslei is the contact person for Nancy and Ann. David will contact Megan.  For more information about discipline standards up for revision, please visit: https://acrl.libguides.com/c.php?g=636310&p=4459588
    4. ILFSC is hosting a forum at ALA Annual. The forum is scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 10:30-11:30 am in the Convention Center, room 221.
    5. Here is the brief intro about the forum:
      • Creating Information Literacy Frameworks: Examples and Ideas for ACRL Sections and Interest Groups
      • This discussion will focus on the development of disciplinary information literacy frameworks. It is an opportunity for groups updating disciplinary standards, or creating new documents, to share their processes and progress, and have an opportunity to ask questions. The forum will be hosted by the ACRL Information Literacy Frameworks and Standards Committee (ILFSC) with short presentations from the members of the Anthropology and Sociology Section (ANSS), Education and Behavioral Sciences Section (EBSS) Instruction for Educators Committee, and Literatures in English Section (LES) Working Group to Update the LES Research Competencies.
    6. Katherine and Scott are liaisons to RBMS. They are expected to contact RBMS chairs before ALA Annual  and keep everyone informed via email
    7.  Status updates on Tracking Sheet Assignments
    8. The ACRL EBSS Curriculum Materials Committee's "Guidelines for Curriculum Materials Centers" was revised in July, 2017. David will verify if it was approved by the ACRL Board and update the tracking sheet.
    9. Other - Virtual check in via email before ALA Annual

    Thanks!

    Amanda

We had a call staff meeting during it  a water main to break and were evacuated from the building.
