Update 01/12/2015: The Information Literacy Standards Committee has reviewed and approved the draft of the Information Literacy Framework for Higher Education and submitted it for Standards Committee review. The transmittal sheet has been updated with this information (see http://connect.ala.org/files/Transmittal%20Sheet%20for%20Draft%20Standard%20--%20ACRL%20Information%20Literacy%20Framework%20for%20Higher%20Education%20%20and%20Guidelines%20--FORMATTING%20REMOVED_01-12-2015.docx below ).

Jeanne Davidson, on behalf of the ILSC, reported: "We were impressed with the job done by the Task Force and commend them on a tremendous effort and an excellent outcome."

Update 01/06/2015: The original transmittal sheet contained some coding that was causing display and printing problems for folks, so I copied the text and created a new document with the coding removed (Transmittal Sheet for Draft Standard -- ACRL Information Literacy Framework for Higher Education and Guidelines --FORMATTING REMOVED.docx, see below). Please use this version if you have problems with the other version.

    Dear ACRL Standards Committee members,

Attached please find the final draft of the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, along with the transmittal sheet and the Task Force's recommendations for Board action.

Please review these documents and share any questions and comments with the group. The revised standards are the primary focus of our virtual meeting on January 16th. Remember that we are reviewing the revision process in the context of Chapter 14 of ACRL's Guide to Policies and Procedures; see especially sections 14.4 - 14.6.

The Information Literacy Standards Committee, a subcommittee of our committee, will also be reviewing these documents and will make its recommendation to our committee by January 12th. We need that committee's recommendation before we can make our own recommendation to the Board.

Thanks so much for your help and attention to these time-sensitive materials. If you have any questions, do let me know.

    Best wishes,

    Susanna
