    Dear Standards Committee members,

FYI. The Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education Task Force has extended the time-line for submitting the final draft and recommendations; instead of submitting the draft in time for the fall Board meeting, the Task Force will prepare another draft, solicit more feedback, and submit a final draft in time for the Board's Midwinter meeting (see http://www.acrl.ala.org/acrlinsider/archives/9058). This means that our committee won't see the final draft for another couple of months.

Once the Task Force has the final draft ready, we will need to review it and submit it to the Board. We may want to hold a virtual meeting before Midwinter to do this.

As you know, the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education is the long-awaited revision of the Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education, and there are a number of other standards that can't be revised until the Framework is finished and approved.

I'd been waiting for confirmation of the new time-line; this also affects potential liaison assignments. Now that know the time-line, we can move forward on other things.

    I'll have more information soon!

    All best,

    Susanna
