Jane Carvajal has been the Director of Library Services for the DC Metro of DeVry University since February 2007. She has worked in libraries for the past 29 years. She previously held positions at Prince William County Public Library in Prince William County VA, Metropolitan Library System in Oklahoma City OK and University of Oklahoma in Norman Ok. She received her BFA, MLS and MEd from University of Oklahoma. She is responsible for 6 campuses’ library services including but not limited to library instruction. She has blazed a trail in providing virtual class presentations to the campuses more than 1 hour away. She also manages the Academic Success Center which provides tutoring to our students. She has spoken at the Public Libraries Conference in 2000 and at Oklahoma Libraries Conference in 2002 and 2003. She worked on the ALA RUSA Presidents’ program in 1998, creating the webpage that linked the presenter’s materials to the ALA website.
Diane Klare, who served as the science reference librarian at Wesleyan University from August 2002-July, 2006, became head of the reference department in Olin Library, effective July 1, 2006. Diane has a bachelor of arts degree in French from the University of Connecticut, and a master’s in business administration with a concentration in international finance, also from the University of Connecticut. She worked as a senior financial analyst at the Fleet Financial Corporation from 1985 until 2001. Towards the end of her tenure at Fleet Financial, Diane decided she wished to become a librarian and she completed her master’s in library science at Southern Connecticut State University in 2002. In addition to her responsibilities as head of reference, she also serves as liaison to the Economics and the Psychology departments. Diane has an incredible breadth and depth of knowledge in a wide variety of fields.
Maria Kessler McShane graduated from the School of Information Science at the University of Albany, SUNY in 2004. She has worked in various libraries and archives, including the Albany Institute of History (2004-2005) and the University at Albany (2005-2006). She is the College Archivist and a Reference Librarian at The College of Saint Rose, where she was worked since 2006. She is a certified archivist. She will be graduating in December, earning a Master's Degree in Computer Information Systems, from The College of Saint Rose.
