Notes from 6/21 Discussion Group Meeting

Thanks to everyone who made it to the discussion group yesterday. Since it's hard to get folks in the same (Zoom) room at the same time, we wanted to share the notes and continue the conversation here. There are discussion points for each of the three initial questions on this set of slides. You should be able to comment on the slides, or reply here.

    Our three initial questions were:

    1. In what ways can sociology librarians integrate the concepts of the ACRL Framework and the Framework for Information Literacy in Sociology into regular information literacy instruction? This can be theoretical rather than practices you see or use currently
    2. How can we both recognize the value of knowledge created in academic contexts while making it clear that these approaches to developing knowledge are not the only viable epistemic paradigms?
    3. How can information literacy instruction draw on the knowledge and experiences that sociology students bring to the classroom and the library?
