Hello to all of you,
It's been a while since I've made a call for submissions to the Journal of Access Services, partially because I know how tough the pandemic has been on all of us. As we have shifted back into some sense of normalcy, I wanted to re-engage with all of you and remind that the Journal is looking for new submissions.
We welcome submissions of research, theory, and practice relevant to the field of Access Services. As someone who has been involved in the field since 2001, I've witnessed that it has and continues to grow beyond the traditional circulation, ILL, and reserves areas. While we continue to be interested in papers on those topics, we also want to share other areas that have become Access Services. These can include but limited to building security and maintenance, library spaces, circulating or reusable technology, and disaster planning.
The COVID-19 pandemic created extraordinary challenges to all of us which resulted in developing new services and policies. We have published a few articles related to this topic but in the coming months, I will be looking at developing a special issue focused on how our field was not only impacted by COVID-19 but developed innovative approaches.
While research submissions are always welcome, I am always looking for guest editorial submissions which allow for someone to share their thoughts, ideas, or concerns regarding topics or trends within our field.
Along with making a call for submissions, I will be looking at adding new editorial board members. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me. I do request that new editorial board members submit an article within the first year on the board.
