Hope everyone is doing well.
For those of you who will be attending the ACRL Conference in person this year, I wanted to check whether there would be any interest in holding a social gathering for ACRL Chapters Council members on one of the days during the Conference (Wednesday, March 15 - Saturday, March 18) in Pittsburgh. The gathering would take place outside of Conference hours and at an off-site venue, and it would not be affiliated with, or receive any funding from, ACRL, meaning attendees would need to pay their own way. It would be primarily an opportunity for Chapters Council members to socialize in a more informal setting and share ideas and insights relevant to the work of Chapters Council.
I will not be attending ACRL this year, so if anyone would be interested in taking the lead on finding a venue and making reservations for Chapters Council to meet there at a certain time, please contact me off-list (eedwards@ilsos.gov) as soon as possible. Also, you may have seen the post from Leslin Charles earlier today with the call for Chapter Topics Newsletter submissions. A social gathering of Chapters Council members during ACRL would be a worthwhile potential article topic for the next issue.
