I am delighted to announce that ALA has
just published a press release announcing the first
Libraries Transform Communities Engagement Grant
(LTCEG) award winner:
http://www.ala.org/news/member-news/2020/05/milwaukee-public-library-awarded-ala-s-first-libraries-transform-communities
.
Please join me in applauding the Milwaukee Public Library Deaf Storyslam along with the work of all libraries striving to build community during challenging times.
I
'm sure you will agree this is an excellent choice and one that demonstrates the value of this LTCEG initiative. For the more than 100 other applicants who put together highly competitive proposals, I hope you'll carry out your plans anyway as well as consider reapplying next year.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed funds to make this possible and who plan to help grow it in the future. I want to especially thank staff in the ALA Public Programs Office for flawlessly planning and implementing the project. It reflects the power of our working together to make good things happen.
