Subject: Kinesiology need help, where to publish

Hi all,

If you have thoughts on this, we'd appreciate it. This is in the Kinesiology field and our lab is having trouble identifying a publication(s) for this scoping review:

When reaching out to journal editors regarding potential interest in our scoping review, we have run into an issue that editors believe our review is either too clinical or too technical.

The review focuses on application of external ankle supports (bracing, taping, etc.) and its effect on human reflex response.

While understanding the potential use of external ankle supports is important among clinicians for prevention of injury, the sensorimotor mechanisms we are exploring is perceived as too technical for clinical journals.

The sensorimotor journals we have reached out to have the opposite concern that the clinical component is too strong for journal which have a mechanistic focus. I

The student is not sure if there's a better way they can pitch the review to editors so they understand they are addressing both mechanism and clinical applicability or if there's a journal that can appreciate the whole picture.

Any guidance is welcome!

Thanks,

Jen
