Hello! We
- How often do you send overdue notices and in what format (email, physical letter, text message, etc.)
- We send them at the same frequency and pattern as student borrowers.
- How do you hold faculty accountable for overdue or lost items when they leave the institution?
- If faculty are non responsive during or after employment, we escalate to their faculty supervisor. We keep our communications friendly and positive. If there needs to be a firmer message, we pull in the supervisor to deliver it or decide the best course of action. As their supervisor, they'll have a broader view of the employee and what may be impacting their ability to return materials.

Subject: Faculty Borrowing
Hello everyone,
We are in the process of reviewing our borrowing policies for faculty, and specifically looking at how to improve the number of responses when completing inventory each year. Would you be able to share your borrowing policies for faculty? All information is appreciated. It would also be helpful if you could answer a couple of specific questions below:
- How often do you send overdue notices and in what format (email, physical letter, text message, etc.)?
- How do you hold faculty accountable for overdue or lost items when they leave the institution?
Thank you,
Tori
