Membership in the AASL Chapters Forum is open to all and may include the state-level school library association’s president/chair, other officers, conference chair, etc. Past Delegates and other interested stakeholders from the association may join the forum. This space provides an opportunity to share, discuss and ask questions from chapter colleagues across the country.

  • 1.  2015 ALA Annual Conference Affiliate Assembly Meetings

    A few of you have asked for clarification on the Affiliate Assembly meetings at ALA Annual in San Francisco. As always, the schedule is not set in stone until ALA Conference Services publishes the approved times, dates, and room locations- this will happen in April. However, everyone should be able to plan around the following four meetings. Please note, the Affiliate Assembly Leadership Summit is new this year, and will be available for two people from every affiliated state to attend, as well as the Affiliate Regional Representatives. More information about that meeting will be available soon.


    Affiliate Assembly Coordinating Team Meeting (AACT)- Thursday, June 25, 4-6 PM


    Affiliate Assembly Leadership Summit- Friday, June 26, 8 AM- 4 PM


    Affiliate Assembly I- Friday, June 26, 7 PM- 9 PM


    Affiliate Assembly II- Sunday, June 28, 8 AM- 12 PM

    While this schedule may not be set in stone, I am going to have to be late to the AACT on Thursday evening. I am attending PBL World in Napa until 3:00 pm on June 25. I know Napa is about an hour away from San Francisco, but that doesn't allow for traffic. This conference (PBL World) reservation was made and paid for by my district when the original meeting for AACT was scheduled for Friday, June 26, and I thought I would have plenty of time to get to San Francisco for the meeting Friday morning.

    I, too, will miss a portion, if not all, of the AACT meeting as my plane reservations have been made with my arrival at the airport for 4 p.m.  Is it possible to look into moving it to a little later?

    Where is the Leadership Summit registration located?

    I can't seem to find it anywhere. Also - can't find the AASL Online Conference Registration.

    Who should attend the team meeting on Thurs. the 25th from 4 to 6pm?  I'm new and am not sure if I'm supposed to be there.
