Nina has been a member of ALA since 1993, and an active member of ALSC since then. She has served on the ALSC Board of Directors, chaired the Newbery and Sibert award committees, and many other ALSC committees including Education and Organization & Bylaws. Nina is a co-blogger a Reading While White, and was the co-creator of SLJ's Heavy Medal: A Mock Newbery Blog. Nina is the 2016-17 ALSC Vice-President / President-Elect
