    Andrea Vaughn Johnson was the Coordinator of School Age Services at Brooklyn Public Library (NY) from 2008-2015, planning the Summer Reading program and other initiatives to get kids reading and learning. Before joining BPL as a librarian in 2007, she worked as a children's librarian at Emma S. Clark Memorial Library in Setauket, NY, The Children’s Book Council and Queens Library. She received her MLS from Long Island University and her Bachelor’s in Multidisciplinary Studies from SUNY Stony Brook. Andrea is currently taking a break from library work to take care of her young son full time, and is the chair of the ALSC Student Gift Membership Task Force and a member of ALSC Local Arrangements for Annual 2017 in Chicago.
