    Skip Dye graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1984 with a BA in Theatre and a minor in Psychology. In 1986, he completed a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia where he also worked as an adjunct teacher. Moving to New York City in 1988, Skip began working in Publishing at St. Martin's Press (now know as Macmillan). While there, his experience in non-traditional marketing and sales enabled him to move to William Morrow & Co. in 1990 to create a new department called Special Markets. The role of this new department was to market and sale books to those non-traditional bookstore accounts. While there Skip became involved in title acquisition with a focus in cooking, life-style and children's books. In 1995, Skip moved to Bantam Doubleday Dell to run various groups: Special Markets and Sales Operations. Through the years of company mergers and acquisitions, Skip's roles changed to work and development new markets for the present day Penguin Random House. Presently, Skip heads up three unique departments at PRH: Library Marketing, Digital Sales (Institutional Markets) and Sale Operations. For the past few years, Skip has become involved in advocacy for Libraries. He became a Board Member of United for Library in 2016. Also Skip was invited to be a member of ALA's Public Policy Advisory Council. In 2017, Skip was one of the founding member of the Corporate Committee for Library Investment, a group of concerned Industry headers advocacy for Library funding. Currently, Skip is President-Elect (2017-2018) for United for Libraries.

    <p>As Vice President of Library Marketing, I lead the teams which handle all marketing and promotions plans for Penguin Random House and Penguin Random House Publisher Services titles. We working on connecting our books&nbsp;to &nbsp;librarians and patrons. I am also responsible or Digital Sales to the institutional marketplace. Sales Operations is a separate area of responsibility. I handle the distribution planning of all PRH and PRHPS titles for all markets setting prioritize for our warehouses, creating new policies and procedures, orchestrating our strategies for new titles, and strive to ensure that all of our retailers have an equal playing field to sales our titles.</p>
