To investigate ways that the section can encourage research and publishing on college libraries and librarianship and make recommendations to the CLS Executive Committee.

To oversee ACRLog, an offi cial weblog of ACRL, and to consult with and advise the ACRLog Blog Team; appoint the Blog Team coordinator; create opportunities for ACRL members, as well as other academic partners, to participate in the public platform dedicated to discussing issues affecting college and research libraries as well as higher education institutions; recommend policies and procedures, as needed, to guide the operation of ACRLog; observe trends in blog technology and design, and recommend enhancements to the ACRLog; collect relevant data for reporting and assessment; promote ACRLog to

To promote the implementation and use of ACRL standards/guidelines and relevant best practice statements for college and mediumsized academic libraries; identify and track new concerns that arise regarding these documents; investigate mechanisms for evaluating these documents for continuous improvement; disseminate information about best practices through a variety of media;

To study, evaluate, and recommend in matters relating to college and university structures, including their design, construction, and alteration. Its scope includes: library site selection; building planning and architecture; interior organization of library buildings; decoration of interiors; ventilation, air conditioning, and lighting; maintenance of library buildings and property.

To develop procedures for operating a CLIP Notes program and to oversee the program.

Advances college librarianship and encourages the development of library services in baccalaureate-degree-granting institutions.
