To promote continuing education among instruction librarians so that we can get closer to our universal vision of information literate students, faculty, staff, and society.


K-16 Information Literacy

A community to share resources and ideas about making informationn literacy seamless across all levels of education.

Hosted by the AASL/ACRL Interdivisional Committee on Information Literacy, this community is a place for sharing ideas, resources, and information. We want to use the power of community to make this THE place to go to promote the seamless integration of information literacy from K-12 education through college.

This group is created in the belief that providing opportunities for library users to gain technological, digital, information and media literacies through technology programming is as important as providing storytimes and homework help services. In fact, it could be said that technology programs are simply storytimes for 21st century learners.

Information Literacy and Colonialism

The goal of this community is to investigate and explicate the effects of colonialism on Information Literacy.  There has been little reseach in this area and it is fertile for projects.  This community is a place to network, bounce ideas, discuss, and collaborate on projects that have to do with Information Literacy and Colonialism.
