The ALA Office for Human Resource Development & Recruitment (HRDR) has developed a number of valuable recruitment resources (brochures, bookmarks, posters, traveling table top panels, etc.) which are available to library recruiters. The ALA Recruitment Assembly has identified a need to promote the availability of these resources and to make them easily accessible on the web as a toolkit entitled “Career Fair in a Box.” The goal is to make it simple for library recruiters to find out what resources are available and to order or print material to use as displays and handouts at events which promote careers in librarianship. Team S will identify and describe the existing career recruitment material, recommend changes or additional resources, and consolidate links and information about recruitment resources on the ALA Library Career Recruitment Wiki.
Library recruiters will be more aware of the library career recruitment materials (brochures, bookmarks, etc.) and traveling table top panel currently available through the HRDR office.
Use of the library career recruitment materials available through the HRDR office will increase.
With increased visibility and accessibility of existing high quality recruitment material available through the HRDR, library recruiters will have less need to create their own material from scratch.
Information about "best practices" related to career fairs will be collected and shared.
The ALA Recruitment Assembly will be better known to members of the library profession and be recognized as the source for high quality recruitment resources.
