CURRENT_ACTIVITIES: LITA NGCIG Meeting at Midwinter: Three Next Generation Catalog Projects A brief business IG business meeting began the meeting. Sharon Shafer of UCLA was elected on the Chair-Elect. She will begin her chairship at the end of the 2008 Annual Conference. Ray Schwartz of William Paterson University, NJ was elected as the next Chair-Elect beginning at the end of the 2008 Annual Conference. The LITA Next Generation Catalog Interest Group met on Sunday, January 13, from 4:00 to 6:00pm in the Hilton Garden Inn (conveniently located just outside the convention center), in Salon A/B. We had presentations and discussion about three locally developed and/or open source catalog projects. Ross Shanley-Roberts of Miami University discussed their SolrPac project; Bess Sadler of the University of Virginia discussed their Project Blacklight; and Chris Barr and Andrew Nagy of Villanova discussed their VuFind project.
