I'm voting No because I agree with Fernando that we should remove the phrase "and to those employed at institutions serving professionally underrepresented racial and ethnic groups."

I agree with deleting the sentence, and so have changed my vote to no. As soon as we have four "no" votes, I can declare that the motion failed and re-submit it without the offending sentence.

Unfortunately, Deborah misunderstood my suggestion yesterday regarding our discussion on diversity scholarships. I preferred the rewrite in the "Comment" section to read "Particular consideration will be given to applicants from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups," period full stop, without the additional clause "...and to those employed at institutions serving professionally underrepresented racial and ethnic groups"? As I said yesterday, although I agree with Tory's sentiment, I don't think it should be included in our revision, which should focus the Committee's attention on very specific demographic groups. Also, what kind of institutions would we intend to give special consideration to? Don't all institutions potentially serve underrepresented racial and ethnic groups? Or do we mean historically Black colleges, tribal colleges, etc.?

I did understand it to mean "historically Black colleges, tribal colleges, etc."

I'm voting no as well, in order to further the process of calling up a new vote, with Fernando's corrections included.

I'm voting no as well so that we will be able to vote on the corrected wording soon.

I  just changed my vote to Nay.

Voted no for the same reasons as everyone else.
