Regional campus libraries planning?
At the University of Connecticut, we have been building on the success of our main campus efforts to create a learning commons in the main library. Librarians at the regional campuses (5) have met with campus constituencies, polled the students through surveys and focus groups, done a literature review, and are forging ahead the best we can as circumstances (well, money) allow. Two of the campuses have opened up library space for the Writing Center and tutoring services; two others have done cross-training with their student workers with the Academic Center. Has anyone else started learning commons at branch campuses, or are planning to?
