ACRL Strategic Thinking Guide for Academic Librarians in the New Economy

The ACRL Strategic Thinking Guide for Academic Librarians in the New Economy was developed by ACRL in February-March 2009 to spur thought and conversation (and perhaps action) related to strong forces affecting the environment in which academic libraries exist.

This Guide focuses on three environmental drivers:
1. The Economy and Higher Education
2. The Students
3. Technology

Within each of these sections the guide poses factors and then a set of questions for librarians to consider.

This guide is meant as a springboard for discussion and dialogue as well as for strategy formulation but is a snapshot in time.
