We’ll use the chat feature on ALA Connect.  People will need to have their ALA website username and password to log in.  You can look it up here http://www.ala.org/Template.cfm?Section=Login&template=/security/nopassword.cfm If you are not an ALA member, you can create an account for yourself here http://connect.ala.org/user/register Once you login to ALA Connect, go here to the chat: http://connect.ala.org/chatrooms/chat/115I plan to be available via email and in the chat room about 15-20 minutes before 1:00 in case there are problems getting in that I can help with.

I would appreciate if you let me know if you’re planning to join the chat, but this is not essential.

I briefly tried the ALA Connect chat feature with Jaws and it seemed to work.  I was able to send a message and read messages.  It did not seem to notify me when a message was received, so it might require periodic checking.  I’m not an expert or a regular Jaws user, so I’m not sure how usable it actually is.  If we have a screen reader user participating, it would be interesting to use the meeting to learn how this works if needed.   The ALA Connect help menu says "Is Connect's chat feature ADA-compliant?
We believe so, yes. We specifically don't use any fancy AJAX chat modules in order to make sure this feature works for everyone. If you run into any problems using the chat function, please don't hesitate to contact us."
