Hello everyone:

Hello everyone:

I am a volunteer with the Legacy Oral History Program at the Museum of Performance & Design in San Francisco, and in case some some here might be interested, I wanted to let people know that Legacy is holding its annual oral history workshop, August 5-7, 2010. It provides the training necessary for participants to launch their own oral history projects, covering project design, funding, legal and ethical issues, technology, interviewing, transcription and editing, in a lecture/discussion format with opportunities to apply presented material. It is designed to meet the needs of participants of all levels of experience in the field of oral history, beginning, intermediate and advanced, specifically library, historical society and museum staff, those involved in anthropology, cultural studies, social history, institutional history, regional history and family history, and those working on master’s or doctoral studies, or other research projects.

The workshop is limited to thirty participants in order to give personal attention to each project. For more information you can call 415-255-4800, ext. *823 or email You can also visit the workshop webpage at

Provides a forum for the exchange of information about library services in local history and genealogy. Creates and fosters an environment for creativity and growth by acting as a catalyst for new ideas and problem-solving initiatives.
