Attached is the agenda for our meeting on Monday, December 9, 2013. Please remember that it is scheduled for 2-3pm EST. Thanks!
RUSA Conference Program Coordinating Committee (Reference and User Services Association) Committee
Hello 2012-2013 RUSA Conference Program Coordinating Committee!
I'd like to take this moment to again say what a pleasure it has been working with you over this past year. There are a few loose ends I'd like to tie up before I'm no longer able to access our space here on ALA Connect. First, the RUSA Board did indeed approve the slate of 2014 Institutes, Preconferences, Programs and Budgets as we had approved them earlier that same day in Chicago. I've attached here the Excel spreadsheet that was presented to the board.
I'll be sending a message to all of the program organizers to make sure that each person is aware that their program has been approved.
Also, we did not formally approve our May meeting minutes when we met in Chicago. I'll be posting a poll here on Connect within a few minutes asking you to approve them.
Thanks so much to each of you for your time and dedication over this past year. I'm also very thankful that Denise Forro will be chairing the committee for 2013-2014. Thank you, Denise!
Attached is our most recent spreadsheet of the 2014 RUSA program/preconference/institute proposals, dated 6-25-2013. See the 5th tab across the bottom: Annual ’14 Draft Schedule. Following our discussion on this at the end of our June 12th meeting, I've moved some of the programs into their 2nd choice time slots in order to avoid conflicts (The 1st choice time slots resulted in unmanageable clusters at Saturday 10:30 – 11:30 and Sunday 1:00 - 2:30). Please review, and if you represent a section, make sure that your program organizers are aware that it’s likely they’ll be getting their 2nd choice.
We will make any necessary final changes and formally approve the slate of programs when RUSA Conference Program Coordinating Committee meets in Chicago at ALA Annual (Monday, July 1, 8:30-10:00 a.m. at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place Boardroom 3). Our approved version then goes to RUSA Board for their approval when they meet 2-3:30 that same day in the afternoon.
