Online Doc Annual 2015 Agenda

Good morning! I hope that many of you will be able to attend the Legislation Assembly's meeting during the Annual 2015 conference (agenda attached).  The meeting will be held on Monday, June 29th from 8:30-10:00 a.m. in the Marriott Marquis San Francisco– Yerba Buena Salon 13-15.

Happy Tuesday!

I hope that everyone is enjoying the spring weather (it's finally warming up here!).  I wanted to let you know that we have begun a new monthly blog post. I will be compiling the letters that we participate in during the month and will do one post that includes them all.  We hope that this will help to keep you better informed on the goings on in DC.

Discussion Madison and Cooke Awards

On Friday, March 14th the ALA awarded President Barack Obama’s Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies the 2014 James Madison Award during the 16th Annual Freedom of Information Day in Washington, D.C.

On Friday, March 14th the ALA awarded President Barack Obama’s Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies the 2014 James Madison Award during the 16th Annual Freedom of Information Day in Washington, D.C. The Presidential Review Group received the award for calling for dozens of urgent and practical reforms to the National Security Agency’s unlawful surveillance programs.

The ALA also presented the Open Government Project of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey the Eileen Cooke Award for improving citizen access to public records and meeting files. This award is named for Eileen Cooke, former director of the ALA’s Washington Office, honors an extraordinary leader who has built local grassroots awareness of the importance of access to information.

Discussion COL's FDLP Task Force Webinar Archived

The Committee on Legislation, FDLP Task Force is holding a discussion during Midwinter. Invitations have been sent  to division and round tables to send two representatives to the open dialogue on Saturday, January 25, 10:30a.m. - 11:30a.m., Philadelphia Convention Center, Room 107B. (Please note that there has been a room change!) The Task Force has compiled a survey that is now available, that follows the questions that will be discussed at Midwinter.

Next Thursday, January 16th at 2:00PM est, COL's FDLP Task Force will be hosting a webinar to provide information regarding their survey that is currently available and the open dialogue that they will be hosting during Midwinter.  If you are unable to participate during the live webinar, it will be archived and posted here.
