    The University of Georgia Libraries is seeking a Research and Instruction Librarian/Liaison to First Year Composition who will be responsible to the Head of the Research and Instruction Department for assisting students, faculty, and staff in making effective use of library and other research resources. To achieve this goal, this Research and Instruction Librarian provides in-person and virtual reference assistance, library instruction sessions, and one-on-one in-depth consultations in a range of subjects with particular responsibility for outreach to the University’s First-Year Composition program.


    The Research and Instruction Department currently covers three in-person service points: the Main Library, the Science Library, and the Zell B. Miller Learning Center. This position is based in the Main Library, which holds a broad range of materials in the arts and humanities, social sciences, and business. The Main Library is also home to the Map & Government Information Library, the Digital Library of Georgia, and a Digital Humanities Lab. The Main Library’s Research and Instruction Department is comprised of 9 librarians, 1 staff member, and 3 student assistants.


    The UGA Libraries is located on the university's main campus in Athens, Georgia, and its facilities include the Main Library, Science Library, Zell B. Miller Learning Center, Map and Government Information Library, Repository, Special Collections Libraries, and the Carnegie Library.
