Branch and Outreach Services Librarian
La Porte County Public Library has an opening for a full-time Branch and Outreach Services Librarian. The ideal candidate for this position is an energetic and enthusiastic individual that takes initiative, is forward thinking, and manages change well. The primary responsibilities of this position include supervising 4 FTE Customer Service Specialists; ensuring the delivery of high quality customer service of our Doorstep Delivery, Mobile Library, and Assisted Living services; increasing public awareness of classes, services, and resources using a variety of marketing methods; planning, teaching, and facilitating outreach and Mobile Library events, seminars, workshops, and classes, which reflect the educational goals of La Porte County Public Library; evaluating staffing levels and work processes and making recommendations for changes as needed to maintain efficient workflows.
Qualifications and skills include but are not limited to: Two years supervisory experience; Master of Library Science Degree or the ability to obtain within 3 years of start date; extraordinary customer service skills; ability to take initiative and build relationships with community leaders; excellent communication and computer skills; excellent organizational skills; ability to work well with others and enjoy it.
