    Call for Research Study Participants!

Minority Student Experiences with Racial Microaggressions in the Academic Library

You are invited to participate in a research study about your experiences with racial and ethnic microaggressions in academic libraries.  We are interested in your experiences even if you have completed your studies and are not currently a student.

The study is being conducted by Dr. Nicole A. Cooke (University of Illinois) and Dr. Miriam E. Sweeney (University of Alabama), and is supported by a Diversity Research Grant awarded by ALA’s Office for Diversity, Outreach, and Literacy Services.

If you choose to participate, you will be directed to a survey that will take no more than 10 minutes of your time.  The purpose of this study is to gain insight into the specific experiences surrounding racial microaggressions directed at racial and ethnic minority students in the context of accessing library spaces and services on campuses. This information can be used to transform the social, cultural, and physical environments of academic libraries into more inclusive spaces. If you choose to participate, your participation will be confidential.
