    The Chapman University Leatherby Libraries are hiring a Part-Time Reference Librarian. We are looking for individuals who can commit to working 19 hours per week, including: Sundays from Noon – 5:00 pm; a couple of evening shifts on Tuesday and Wednesday up until 8:00 pmand possibly a day shift, as needed.


     


    Responsibilities


    The Reference Librarian assists students, faculty and other staff in the effective use of learning resources and provides research support that may include any combination of the following: reference, instruction, and special projects in reference support, maintaining statistics, associated public services record keeping, and developing and refining research guides and other self-help materials.


     


    Required Qualifications


    A.L.A. accredited M.L.S. degree


    Demonstrated experience delivering reference service preferably in an academic library


    Demonstrated knowledge and search experience with mainstream academic databases especially full-text products


    Ability to create functional and efficient library help guides on various topics.


    Strong interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels.


    Ability to use tact and diplomacy and high level of confidentiality.


    Technical skills to learn and use enterprise systems and departmental tools.


    Ability to learn and interpret university and library policies and procedures.
