    UC Clermont invites applications for an Instruction Librarian beginning July 1, 2018 unless otherwise indicated. UC Clermont is an open admissions regional campus thirty miles east of the University of Cincinnati in Batavia, Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 3,500 students. The college offers a variety of certificates, transfer programs, two-year technical degrees, and a baccalaureate degree.


     


    The Instruction Librarian will report to and receive direction from the Library Director.  They will work collaboratively with other Clermont College Library staff and communicate laterally with UC Libraries staff as required.


     


    Serves as instruction coordinator for the Clermont College Library. Oversees the development of a library instruction program, its curriculum, and associated online learning tools. Collaborates with teaching faculty to craft and deliver information literacy instruction and assessment. Creates library web content for designated subject areas. Participates in the library liaison program. Provides reference and public services.


     


    This position is an integral part of advancing the library’s mission of teaching and student success.


     


    Position Description:  The Instruction Librarian will serve as the instruction coordinator to develop formal information literacy instruction programming and planning, supporting students both in-person and online. This position will collaborate with teaching faculty to craft and deliver information literacy instruction and assessment. The Instruction Librarian will create library web content for designated subject areas in accordance with established university policies and procedures, and develop online tools in support of the information literacy program.  The Instruction Librarian also serves as a back-up to the library webmaster. This position will participate in the library liaison program, consulting regularly with faculty in designated departments regarding information literacy instruction and the selection and assessment of library resources. The Instruction Librarian provides reference and other library public services duties, as well as training in instruction and basic reference services for library staff.  This position is critical to strategic planning and assessment of library services, programs, and resources.


     


    Minimum Qualifications:  Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program. Two years professional experience in information literacy instruction in an academic library setting. Experience with strategic information literacy program planning and development. Experience with the creation of online learning resources in support of information literacy objectives. Experience with active learning strategies in classroom teaching. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships across roles, disciplines, and units. Outstanding oral and written communication skills.


     


    Ideal Qualifications:  Demonstrated experience with information literacy assessment, including information literacy program assessment. Teaching experience with Blackboard or another learning management system.
