    What You'd Do


    SPANISH FLUENCY REQUIRED

    Translate content from English to Spanish for print and electronic distribution. Coordinate translation of multiple languages with external language vendor. Maintain Spanish Facebook page and Twitter accounts. Work with social media specialist and Marketing and Communications manager to find and post content, develop content, prepare images. Work with staff across the library to develop content for website and social media. Maintain website with relevant information and updates.  Assist with the research and development of the library's Language Access Plan. Work with an internal committee to proof translated materials. 


    You Have


    Knowledge of communication and dissemination techniques including social media. Skill in the practice of effective Spanish language communications, both orally and in writing. Skill in checking information for accuracy and completeness and correcting errors. Skill in expressing ideas and facts to individuals or groups effectively. Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work with a diverse group of people. Ability to model a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and a sense of humor. Ability to creatively solve problems, negotiate and handle stressful situations in a positive manner. Ability to create and maintain positive staff relationships. Ability to multi-task and prioritize, Ability to demonstrate innovation and flexibility. Ability to use basic workplace technology, including email, internet and automated software. Ability to pass a background check after the offer to hire has been made.

    Spanish language fluency.

    A Bachelor's degree.

     


    Other Things You Should Know


    This is an exciting opportunity to provide strategic communication creation and support to Denver Public Library's Spanish speaking customers.  The successful candidate will have fluency in written and spoken Spanish to assist in promoting and publicizing the library's services, programs and activities. This position serves as the Spanish language information source to the public and the media both in written materials, web content and in-person when needed.

    Although the full salary range for this position is provided, offers depend on qualifications and typically do not exceed the midpoint.The City and County of Denver benefit package will be offered.  

    This position will be scheduled according to the department needs and may include evening and weekend hours.
