The individual in this position provides leadership and oversight for assigned areas in the position’s portfolio, but also contributes significant hands-on work related to budget development and management, and library-wide evaluation and assessment. The Assistant Dean directly supervises 2.0 FTE officers of administration and 1.0 FTE classified staff, and is responsible for a total permanent staff of nine, plus several student assistants. The position provides leadership as the administrative sponsor for the Evaluation, Assessment, and User Experience Team, the Library Emergency Preparedness and Response Team, the Student Supervisors Group, the Undergraduate Research Award Committee, and ad hoc working groups as needed. The incumbent also serves as a member of the senior-level Administrative Team and Library Council, and participates in appropriate professional development activities and organizations to stay current with trends and practices in the field, and to meet criteria for promotion and retention.
