STS Chat Nov 16th Collaborating with Faculty to Create a Lesson Plan Highlighting Research as Inquiry

Please join us Thursday, November 16th, 1-2 pm CDT (2 - 3 EDT) for the monthly discussion hosted by the ACRL STS Information Literacy committee. This month Kelli Trei, Biosciences librarian and assistant professor from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will lead our discussion : “Collaborating with Faculty to Create a Lesson Plan Highlighting Research as Inquiry.”

Discussion Description:

This presentation will detail a project in a course at Illinois designed to prepare undergraduates in the life sciences to pursue graduate research. This class session uses cognitive constructivism in the context of the ACRL framework to teach information literacy skills in one session of this course. The lesson plan was a combined effort between the librarian and professor.
