We are looking for a cataloger with these qualities:
- Professional cataloging experience in a public library.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Accuracy & speed in cataloging.
- Familiarity with the Sierra ILS, LC Subject Headings, MARC, the Dewey Decimal System, the latest Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, RDA and OCLC manuals in cataloging and classifying library materials.
- Multi-lingual skills in both reading and writing across a variety of languages are desired.
What are the minimum qualifications and skills?
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program.
- Professional public library cataloging experience.
- Knowledge of and experience with the Dewey Decimal System, LC Subject Headings, and MARC.
