Preservation and Digital Archivist, Villanova University Library
Reporting to the Director of Distinctive Collections and Digital Engagement, the Preservation and Digital Archivist is responsible for all aspects of the University's archival collections including: acquisitions, preservation, arrangement and description, outreach, technology, and digital projects. Develops a digital records practices. The incumbent provides archival reference related to the University Archives collections.
The Preservation and Digital Archivist develops and implements library-wide programs for preservation, disaster preparedness and other efforts to enhance preservation of library material, according to national standards, and provides leadership and direction for comprehensive library preservation programs, including defining and prioritizing needs, establishing goals, objectives, plans, and their implementation in alignment with the library's strategic direction

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manages archival collections in print and digital formats, providing appraisal, arrangement and description, research support, and reference services. Coordinates with University offices for the disposition of materials in accordance with University policies and procedures. Provides researchers access to materials in accordance with policy. In collaboration develops and implements innovative archival outreach programming and services.
· Provides leadership and development of library-wide preservation and disaster preparedness programs, including defining and prioritizing needs, establishing goals, objectives, plans, and their implementation in alignment with the library's strategic direction.
· Provides staff training, direction, and mentoring.
· Leads and contributes to programs, goals and strategic initiatives of the Collections & Scholarship, Falvey Memorial Library, Villanova University and professional organizations, as appropriate.
· Performs additional duties and assists with special projects as assigned.
