    Job Description:


    This position is a collaboration between the Thomas G. Carpenter Library and the Center for Instruction & Research Technology (CIRT). As part of the Library Instruction and Research Teams in Public Services, the Online Learning Librarian delivers library services for distance, online, and campus communities. As a member of CIRT’s Instructional Design Team, this position provides instructional support for online courses. The librarian facilitates communication between the Library and the University Distance Learning (DL) Committee. Provides information literacy and research service to faculty and students in accordance with ACRL Standards for Distance Learning Library Services. Plans, delivers, promotes, and assesses distance library services. Participates in research and instruction services. Maintains an understanding of the role of libraries in online learning and demonstrates knowledge of best practices and current trends related to instructional technology. Works under the supervision of the Head of Instruction and the CIRT Assistant Director for Online Course Development. The work schedule for this position is split between and agreed upon by the Library and CIRT.

    Salary is $47,000.00 to negotiable (Assistant Librarian). Applicants with 5 years of experience in academic libraries post MLS may be hired at the rank of Associate Librarian, with a salary of $55,000.00 to negotiable.
