Four members earn 2017 ALCTS Honors

The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) is pleased to announce that the following four ALCTS members have been awarded ALCTS Honors in 2017.

  • John K. Duke, senior associate university librarian, Virginia Commonwealth University
  • Jeanne Harrell, director of collection development and acquisitions services, Texas A&M University
  • Joyce McDonough, continuing and electronic resources management director, Columbia University
  • Genevieve S. Owens

“The 2017 recipients of the ALCTS Honors awards exemplify the spirit of excellence in service we all hope to emulate,” said ALCTS President Vicki Sipe. “They have given of their time, creative energy and drive over many years. ALCTS is a better organization for their service, and we are all the beneficiaries of their generosity. I thank them for their commitment to ALCTS.”

ALCTS Honors are given by the ALCTS Board of Directors for outstanding contributions at all levels within ALCTS, stellar dedication to service, uncompromising commitment to excellence, willingness to accept challenges and a sustained and exemplary record of moving ALCTS forward. This award consists of a citation, and will be presented on June 24 at the ALCTS Awards Ceremony during the 2017 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference and Exhibition in Chicago.
