ALA 2017 Emerging Leaders Team H Project Survey

Did your MLS/MLIS program adequately prepare you for your career in public librarianship? If there are gaps in your professional preparation, how have you addressed them? The Public Library Association (PLA) has sponsored an ALA Emerging Leaders project titled “More Than Your MLIS: Experience and Continuing Education Recommendations for Emerging Public Library Leaders,”  which is now in its second year. We’d like to gather your experiences and recommendations in order to 1) provide feedback for stakeholders interested in improving the quality of professional education, and 2) recommend continuing education resources for colleagues entering our profession.

Early career librarians with 5 years or fewer of professional experience are invited and encouraged to offer your feedback by participating in a short survey that will take about 10 minutes to complete. Survey results are confidential, and identifying information will not be shared. Results will be presented at ALA Annual Conference in Chicago, IL.
