ACRL STS ILC: Using the Scientific Method to teach the Framework

Wednesday, February 15, 2017
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, US/Eastern

Please join us, Wednesday February 15th 1-2pm EST (12-1pm CST) for the monthly discussion hosted by the ACRL STS Information Literacy committee. This month, Kelly Grossmann (STEM Librarian at Eastern Michigan University) will lead our discussion: "Using the Scientific Method to teach the Framework"

Discussion Description:
The "Research as Inquiry" Frame is closely similar to another research process--the Scientific Method. Why not make use of this parallel to help teach students about information-based research? In this chat, we will compare the "Research as Inquiry" Frame to the steps of the Scientific Method, explore ideas about how to harness the students' familiarity with the Scientific Method to conduct successful information-based research, and identify the advantages and limitations of this approach.
To add fuel for our discussion we recommend you check out this resources
