ACRL CJCLS Midyear Membership Meeting - (Via WebEx)

Hello CJCLS members!

Thank you for joining the Midyear Membership Meeting set for the ACRL CJCLS Section.

Please review our meeting Agenda, the most recent Exec. Cmte. Minutes, and the ACRL Discussion Form submitted for Midwinter in the “files” tab above.

Here is our meeting connection information along with an accessible time zone converter for January 27, 2017.

The meeting room will open fifteen minutes before the start time.  Log in a wee bit early as you will need to register to join the meeting; a quick name and e-mail process.

Elois Sharpe at ACRL, who is assisting us, will make presenters to “panelists,” so that they are able to access all the features of WebEx. Though, if you are not speaking, you should mute your mic. 

All members will need a USB headset (and an Internet connection) to hear the audio. Exec. Cmte. members especially will need this to report/present as “panelists.”

Exec. Cmte. members who wish may send .ppt or .pdf files ahead of the meeting if they are to be displayed during your report. Send to: esharpe@ala.org  by C.O.B. 5:00 p.m. CT on Jan. 25.   

When you are presenting in the WebEx session, I will “pass” to you the WebEx white and green “ball,” you will turn on your mic and advance your documents and slides for the whole group online.

 

All other attendees will only have access to the chat room.  Please prepare brief text for “new business,” which can be shared via the chat feature.

Prior to accessing the meeting, you will need to have the most up-to-date version of Java downloaded.

If attendees have any difficulties accessing the meeting, they can call WebEx’s tech support number at 877-469-3239.

Here are a few tips we’ve discovered that you can pass onto committee members: 

1.            Make certain you have an updated version of Java.

2.            Make sure you have the most recent WebEx software by checking the system requirements . This especially applies to users accessing the meeting through a mobile device.

3.            Only use PPT or PDF files.

4.            You will need a headset for VoIP. If you are using a machine with a built-in microphone, you will need to disable the built-in microphone and enable the microphone on your headset (a USB headset is best).

5.            Please allow a few minutes to get in and test your audio, etc. before the start time.
