    POSITION DESCRIPTION:


    The Atlanta University Center - Robert W. Woodruff Library (RWWL-AUC) supports the teaching and learning missions of four institutions of higher learning that comprise the world’s largest consortium of HBCUs—Clark Atlanta University, the Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College, and Spelman College.  Conveniently located and easily accessible to the campuses, the Woodruff Library is the center of the intellectual and social life at the Atlanta University Center.

These factors are evidenced by our library’s recognition in the “university library” category for the 2016 ACRL Excellence in Academic Libraries Award.  To continue our excellence in program and services, the library seeks a vibrant, innovative, and dynamic Library Technical Assistant.  Working with the Digital Services Department this position is responsible for digitizing and creating metadata for original archival materials using a variety of high-resolution scanners. 


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    · Experience in digitizing archival materials
    · Experience using image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop
    · Experience with digital content management systems and web resources
    · Experience with standard office software such as Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    · Sensitivity in handling fragile archival materials
    · Understanding of library metadata structures and standards such as MARC21, Dublin Core, EAD.
    · Effective analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
    · Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    · Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights and weekends.

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

    Associates degree or equivalent years of service.
    · Two years of relevant experience.
