    The School of Information Sciences seeks to hire a Computer-Assisted Instruction Specialist who will work with the Instructional Technology and Design (ITD) Office as part of the academic support structure of the iSchool. The ITD Office works closely with the technical and administrative offices within the iSchool to support both online and traditional instruction through the course management infrastructure, technology evaluation and planning, and in-person and online training.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Train and support faculty, staff and students in their use of instructional technology as it applies to iSchool.
    Work extensively with the Moodle course management system.
    Work extensively with Blackboard Collaborate web-conferencing software.
    Create training procedures and documentation.
    Evaluate technology for instructional use.
    With other ITD staff, oversee online synchronous class delivery.
    Develop workshops about resources and technologies that complement the iSchool curriculum and learning outcomes.
    Assist the Manager of Instructional Technology with training, scheduling, mentoring, and overseeing graduate assistants
    Participate in local, regional, and national conferences on behalf of ITD.
    Participate in iSchool and campus committees.
    Maintain ITD equipment, including computers (both Macintosh and Windows platforms), recording and other equipment.
    Media editing and production using Camtasia, Audacity and other tools.
    Manage media server including flipped classroom conversions and online event recordings
    Collaborate with iSchool Staff establishing workflow and procedures for online degree Programs
    Participate in campus online education community and collaborate with other units supporting online education

    Qualifications
    Required: A Bachelor’s degree and experience in training, teaching, customer service, and/or technical support is required along with knowledge of multimedia and audio/visual formats and equipment.

    Preferred: Experience in the field of library and information science and/or distance education. Familiarity with Moodle (or other) course management and Blackboard Collaborate (or other) web conferencing software. Experience working html, css and other web technologies. Experience providing computer support to users. Supervisory experience. Strong oral and written communication abilities, a creative approach to problems, the ability to respond calmly to stressful situations, and the ability to work in a team environment. Detail-oriented and self-motivated with an ability to set priorities while working on multiple projects.
