    The University Libraries of California State University, East Bay are establishing a pool of librarians (Assistant Librarian rank) for temporary, part-time employment for the 2016/2017 academic year (July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017).
    Duties of the Position: Members of the part-time librarian pool participate in instruction activities under the general direction of the Chair of Library Faculty. Members of the pool teach credit courses and other instructional sessions in the Libraries’ Information Literacy program. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay include courses at the Hayward, Concord, and Online campuses.
    Qualifications: Graduate degree from an ALA-accredited institution; familiarity with the principles of information literacy; recent teaching experience and/or education in teaching methods; excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work collegially in a diverse, fast-paced environment; a strong service commitment; a willingness and ability to serve students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Preference will be given to candidates with recent professional experience in instruction in an academic setting. Preference will also be given to candidates who are able to work at our Concord campus if needed.
    Date of Appointment: Effective July 1, 2016.
