Implementing Health and Medical Reference Guidelines: Training librarians, Paraprofessionals and Part Time Staff

The RUSA Health and Medical Reference Guidelines were revised in 2015, and present a major revision to the previous guiding documents on the best practices for medical reference service. These guidelines were designed for use in libraries regardless of type and cover a broad range of possible reference interactions. This program will highlight how these guides can best be implemented in your library, including how to train professional as well as non-professional staff regarding what are often sensitive reference questions. This forum is co-sponsored by ACRL’s Heath Sciences Interest Group (HSIG).
